This mobile game is one of the numerous announcements made at the Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary broadcast. The stream additionally revealed a collaboration cafe featuring a menu inspired by the franchise and a rerun of the physical exhibition gallery event. The franchise creator Hiromu Arakawa has also revealed a new manga series. However, it has yet to be specified whether the new manga will have any relations with Fullmetal Alchemist or not.

Hiromu Arakawa started publishing the Fullmetal Alchemist manga on Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan comic magazine on July 12, 2001. The series rose to prominence after Bones started releasing its anime adaptations in 2003. It tells the story of Edward and Alphonse Elric in a fictional steampunk world where many people practice alchemy.

Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile will be available for iPhone and Android mobile devices in Japan. Square Enix will deliver more information on the upcoming mobile game in Winter 2021.
