Paimon Emergency Food

Paimon Emergency Food Figures Release in October

Genshin Impact mascot Paimon insists that she is not “Emergency Food.” Neither are the six pieces in a new Paimon Emergency Food figure set, seeing as despite their tasty looks, they’re not really edible. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

The set of six Paimon Emergency Food figurines – formally titled the “Genshin Impact ‘I’m Not Emergency Food!’ Paimon Mascot Figure Collection” – depict the Traveler’s funny floating friend in “super-deformed” style, engaged in a variety of delicious situations.

Most of the figures seem to evoke various food dishes seen in Genshin Impact. Food is a major subsystem of the game, allowing players to assemble dishes from recipes and ingredients and eat them to gain an advantage in battle. Paimon is seen resting on a bed made from Fisherman’s Toast, struggling with a Pile ‘Em Up, sitting in a Satisfying Salad, drooling syrup on a Tea Break Pancake, rolled into a pasta, and boiling in a stew pot.

The figures are made of PVC and ABS plastic and range from 1.5 to 2 inches tall (about 40-50mm). It’s not known if they will be sold separately, but a box of six will be priced at JPY 8,580 (about USD $78). The Paimon Emergency Food figures go on sale in October 2021. Preorders are open via Amazon Japan.

Genshin Impact is free to play on PS4, PS5, Android, iOS, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is in development. Another game with a detailed food-based subsystem, Odin Sphere, also received a line of figurines based on Maury’s Touring Restaurant.
