The main creative team behind the Danganronpa series will work together once again on a new game titled Enigma Archives: Rain Code. According to its official website, it is a “dark fantasy mystery,” though it is unclear what genre it will be. Spike Chunsoft will handle development and sales of the game. [Thanks, Inside Games!]
Just like for Danganronpa, Kazutaka Kodaka will write the story for Enigma Archives: Rain Code. Additionally, Masafumi Takada will compose the soundtrack, and Rui Komatsuzaki will design the characters. So far, there is no information on the story or the characters. It is also unclear which platform the game will come out on.
The teaser site states that while the game is RP (rating pending), it will likely receive an M rating from the ESRB. So far, we can see two characters, as well as some strange ghost-like monsters. The hero is a young boy with the standard “idiot hair” that Danganronpa protagonists have, and the heroine is a cheery girl with long wavy hair.
For the Danganronpa series’ 10th anniversary, Spike Chunsoft has been releasing various pieces of commemorative merchandise. Danganronpa Decadence, as well as Nintendo Switch ports of the three mainline games, will come out on December 3, 2021.
Enigma Archives: Rain Code is in development. More information on the game, release date, and platform will appear on its website in the future.
