Tales of Series 30th Anniversary

Tales of Series Producer Wants to Create Something Exciting for the 30th Anniversary

In an interview with Famitsu, Tales of series Producer Yusuke Tomizawa revealed that he would like to create something special for the 30th anniversary of the series. Additionally, as Tomizawa is also the Producer for Tales of Arise, the interview dove into various details regarding the development of the title. This included some difficulties that arose due to COVID-19. Tomizawa also revealed that the delay ultimately made the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X releases of Tales of Arise possible. The titles were not intended to come to either platform initially. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

However, concerning the upcoming Tales of 30th anniversary, Producer Yusuke Tomizawa said this:

The series will celebrate it’s 30th anniversary in 2025.. Rather than making a “commemorative” work simply because it would be the series’ 30th anniversary, I would like to make something that the fans want.. I think that we should provide a wider range of Tales of titles and experiences for consoles. Not to mention, developing new titles on a regular basis.

However, I have no intention of ignoring the demand to port or remake past works within the series. It’s very difficult to decide which order and what form, but I would like to say the the team will try to create something where all Tales of fans will be excited for the 30th anniversary.

Tomizawa ended the statement by apologizing for his vagueness. However, he also stated that he will do his best to deliver more information sometime within 2022. He did not clarify what this information could potentially entail.

Tales of Arise is available for  PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
