Sting announced in June 2021 that it would remaster Knights in the Nightmare for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. The remaster was originally intended for a 2021 release. However, information regarding Knights in the Nightmare remastered had gone dark until recently. And despite a solid release date appearing for the Switch version, no trailer or visuals have accompanied the announcement.

Knights in the Nightmare is a hybrid JRPG and shoot ’em up. Originally released for the Nintendo DS, players could use the stylus to maneuver a wisp around the screen. The player would need to dodge projectiles while moving the wisp around to activate units and perform attacks.

Knights in the Nightmare Remaster will release for Nintendo Switch in Japan on April 7, 2022. It will eventually appear on Android and iOS devices.
