Nomura Draws Tidus for Final Fantasy X Kabuki

Nomura Tetsuya, the original character designer for Final Fantasy X, drew new art of everyone for the kabuki stage play. As a reminder, the kabuki stage play for Final Fantasy X will run from March 4 to April 12, 2023 in Tokyo, Japan. So far we can see art of TIdus, but Nomura has drawn all of the party members in their kabuki outfits. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

When you go to watch the kabuki stage play, the art of the seven party members will be projected upon a 8-meter screen. It will show up before each parts; there is an intermission before the first half and the second half of the kabuki stage play. It will also be on the pamphlet, so you can look it over at your leisure. Outfits for all of the characters have a distinctly Japanese aesthetic in its reimagining to match with the kabuki format.

As mentioned before, the stage play covers the entire game so it is quite long. So there are two parts to the play, making it possible to purchase tickets for only half the show if your schedule can’t make the whole thing. The first half ends after the party finds out Seymour is an enemy. The second half starts from the group’s infiltration into Bevelle.

The Final Fantasy X kabuki stage play will run from March 4 to April 12, 2023 in Japan. You can purchase tickets for it here.
