How to Use a Tears of the Kingdom Device Dispenser

Ahead of launch, Nintendo teased a gacha-like device in the new The Legend of Zelda game. It turns out this is a The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Device Dispenser for helpful Zonai devices you’ll need when crafting. You’ll find your first one on your way to Gutanbac Shrine on Great Sky Island. Getting items out of it to help you ride the nearby rails and be on your way is as simple as tossing in some Soldier Construct Horns from the various enemies you’ve fought on the way so far.

How to exchange Soldier Construct Horns or Zonai Charges at the Tears of the Kingdom Device Dispenser

After talking to the Maker Construct and finding out what a Device Dispenser is, walk over to the platform in front of the giant gacha machine. Open your menu, scroll over to Materials, and choose to hold between one and five Soldier Construct Horns. Return to the game and approach that bowl. There will be an option to “put in” what you’re holding. Do so, and an animation will play. You’ll then get as many capsules as items you offered.

What you’ll get is randomized, just like a real gacha machine. The first time I used five Soldier Construct Horns, I got three fans, a portable pot, and a flame emitter.
