How do I unlock Popla Foothills Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom?

After arriving at Popla Foothills Skyview Tower for the first time, you will notice that the building’s door is closed and won’t open. Suddenly, a voice will cry out for help from a well just a few feet away from the tower’s entrance. Elmerson, the maintenance worker sent to fix the tower, accidentally fell in the well got stuck underground.

Although you must save Elmerson, don’t fall for the NPC’s trap. Gliding down the Popla Foothills Well will leave you stuck too, and you will be forced to warp out and make your way back. Instead, enter the Popla Foothills Excavation Site, which you can find south of the Skyview Tower. The exact location is located on the map I’ve posted below:

Once you’ve entered the Popla Foothills Excavation site, walk to the center of the room to trigger a cutscene during which Elmerson explains how he got trapped. Step on the floor switch in front of the bars to release him.

That’s it! Once he’s free, the maintenance worker will immediately unlock Popla Foothills Skyview Tower for you. Pro tip: if you are as tired as I was running around to rescue Elmerson, use Link’s Ascend power to immediately return to the tower’s entrance. It’s an actual godsend.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. If you’ve yet to unlock the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, here’s how you can access it too.
