When Yoshitaka Amano designs the logo for each FFXIV expansion, the artist draws the illustration in black and white so that it’s easier to import the data. He then applies the colors digitally. For the Dawntrail logo, the FFXIV development team told Amano it was going to be gold. Furthermore, Amano was asked to include a rainbow in the logo, despite the illustration being black and white.

Regarding cross-regional data center travel or duty finder system, Yoshida said that the FFXIV development team has already completed the system required for it. However, he attributed not knowing whether it is safe or not to mix different cultures as the reason for not implemented these systems yet. Yoshida added that they will take their time to make a decision, and that the FFXIV development team would really like to make cross-region data center options work.

When asked about adding more four-player end content to FFXIV, Yoshida said that the team plans to expand on Variant and Criterion Dungeons. They are also in the process of planning completely new battle content, as well as discussing the next series of large-scale content, such as The Bozjan Southern Front or The Forbidden Land, Eureka.

Final Fantasy XIV is available to play now on the PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 and is coming to Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. A paid subscription is required. Patch 7.0 and the Dawntrail expansion will arrive in Summer 2024.
