The PlayStation Portal is a portable version of the PS5 for when you want to game without the restrictions of being in front of a TV. Another example of usage would be if you only have one TV but someone you live with wants to use it for the night while you’re in the middle of a game. While it does require Wi-Fi, you do not have to use the Wi-Fi at home. So you could potentially play it on the go. Sony does warn that it may impact the quality of your play experience, since you can’t control how good the Wi-Fi is.

The PlayStation Portal will have all the features of a DualSense wireless controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The screen is 8 inches wide, and it can produce 1080p with 60 fps. You can only play PS5 games that you own. That means PlayStation Plus Premium games available via streaming are not available.

The PlayStation Portal PS5 remote play device will come out on November 15, 2023. You can pre-order it from September 29, 2023.
