You may recall a post last month where we reported the contents of the Dragon Quest Anniversary Collection in Japan. One of bonus goodies (pictured to the right) is a reprinted 130-page strategy guide for all three games from the Famicom days. It also includes developer roundtables. This is a first-print bonus only.

Amongst the other goodies in the package are newly-created anime openings for Dragon Quest I, II and III, produced by Kamikaze Douga, the studio that produced the animation for Dragon Quest IX. These are on a disc along with a trailer for Dragon Quest X.

Here’s a glimpse at a couple of the scenes from these new opening movies, along with screenshots of the respective games:

What about the medallion? That’s in there, too. It’s 28mm in size, and like the strategy guide, is a first-run bonus:

Also included as part of the collection is a digital set of art and materials from the games’ development. Square Enix have the 25th anniversary Dragon Quest Anniversary Collection slated for release on September 15th.
