As reported earlier today, Nintendo have begun to divulge details on next week’s Nintendo 3DS firmware update and the launch of the eShop. Included in the update will be the NetFront browser, which you can find details of in this post.

The eShop, Nintendo say, will be updated every Thursday with new content. At launch, Excitebike (until July 7th) and Pokédex 3D will be offered as free apps. The games and apps that the U.S. and Europe will see at the eShop’s launch differ from Japan’s eShop. Here’s what your launch day software will look like, minus prices, which Nintendo haven’t announced:

America:

Excitebike (3D Classics)

Pokédex 3D (“3DSWare”)

Super Mario Land (Virtual Console)

Radar Mission (Virtual Console)

Alleyway (Virtual Console)

Europe:

Excitebike (3D Classics)

Pokédex 3D (“3DSWare”)

Super Mario Land (Virtual Console)

Tennis (Virtual Console)

Alleyway (Virtual Console)

Nintendo mention that, in the near future, you’ll be able to download a free app for a short-form video service that will allow you to watch special video content such as 3D movie trailers, comedy clips and music videos, automatically received via SpotPass.

The 3DS eShop will launch on June 6th in the U.S., and June 7th in Europe and Japan. When it does, you’ll also have access to the DSiWare store’s games, and be able to transfer your existing DSiWare games from your Nintendo DSi to your 3DS.
