The NPD Group just released their top-ten sales chart for the month of September in the U.S. Unsurprisingly, Madden NFL 12 took the top position on the chart, followed by Gears of War 3 at #2.
According to Microsoft, Gears of War 3 has already sold over 3 million copies worldwide since its release on September 20th. Microsoft’s Chief of Staff for Interactive Entertainment Business, Aaron Greenberg, says that the U.S. accounts for 2 million of those sales. Microsoft also pointed out that the Xbox 360 was the best-selling console for the month, with 438,000 Xbox 360s sold in September.
Meanwhile, Eidos Montreal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution enjoyed another month in the top-ten. Eidos will release a downloadable episode titled “The Missing Link” for the game on October 18th, that adds about five hours of playtime.
