Are Legendary Pokemon Shiny Locked in Pokemon Indigo Disk?

Multiple Legendary Pokemon can be discovered in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s The Indigo Disk DLC, and if you’re a Shiny hunter, you may wonder whether you can get them in their alternate color. Here’s what you need to know about whether Legendary Pokemon are Shiny locked in Pokemon Indigo Disk.

Can you get Shiny Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Indigo Disk?

Unfortunately, all Legendary Pokemon encounters are Shiny locked in Pokemon Indigo Disk, which means you cannot grind out their Shiny forms at all. Unlike Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s The Crown Tundra DLC, which allowed you to farm for Shiny Legendary Pokemon in Dynamax Adventures, no such option exists in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s DLC.

If you want Shiny Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Indigo Disk, you’ll need to pull them over from Pokemon HOME if you have them in another Pokemon game on the Nintendo Switch, such as Sword and Shield.

  • Entei.
  • Raikou.
  • Suicune.
  • Ho-oh.

  • Necrozma.
  • Kubfu.
  • Spectrier.
  • Glastrier.
  • Raging Bolt.
  • Gouging Fire.
  • Iron Boulder.
  • Iron Crown.

Gen 5 Mythical Pokemon Meloetta is also available to catch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, though like the Legendary Pokemon, it is also Shiny locked.

How to get Legendary Pokemon

If being Shiny locked doesn’t deter you from catching all 25 Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Indigo Disk and you still want to catch ’em all, you’ll need to take the following steps listed below:

  1. Beat the Blueberry League Elite Four in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC.
  2. Defeat Kieran and become the new BB League Champion at Blueberry Academy.
  3. Go to the Great Crater of Paldea and catch Terapagos.
  4. Fast travel to the Blueberry Academy entrance after rolling the end credits of The Indigo Disk.
  5. Speak to Snacksworth, an NPC wearing a blue suit.

Snacksworth will give you a Legendary Treat at random for every 10 BBQ quests you complete, and some are locked behind completing group BBQ quests. Having a Snack in hand will cause a particular Legendary Pokemon to appear in the Paldea region.

Every Treat that Snacksworth can give you is as follows:

  • Articuno Treat.
  • Zapdos Treat.
  • Moltres Treat.
  • Entei Treat.
  • Raikou Treat.
  • Suicune Treat.
  • Ho-oh Treat.
  • Lugia Treat.
  • Latias Treat.
  • Latios Treat.
  • Rayquaza Treat.
  • Kyogre Treat.
  • Groudon Treat.
  • Zekrom Treat.
  • Reshiram Treat.
  • Kyurem Treat.
  • Cobalion Treat.
  • Terrakion Treat.
  • Virizion Treat.
  • Solgaleo Treat.
  • Lunala Treat.
  • Necrozma Treat.
  • Kubfu Treat.
  • Spectrier Treat.
  • Glastrier Treat.

For the Paradox Legendary Pokemon, you must catch 200 Pokemon from the Blueberry Pokedex and then speak to Perrin at Savanna Rest Area 1 in the Savanna Biome at Blueberry Academy. Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire are exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet, and Iron Boulder and Iron Crown are exclusive to Pokemon Violet.

If Perrin is not showing up at Savanna Rest Area 1 for you, this means you still need to do her Bloodmoon Ursaluna quest in Kitakami in the Pokemon The Teal Mask DLC.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
