How do I get Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

To obtain Bloodmoon Ursaluna, you must catch at least 150 Pokemon in the Kitakami Pokedex in The Teal Mask DLC. Because the Kiktakami Pokedex features Pokemon from the Paldea Region, you will already have most of this mission complete if you have completed Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. After you’ve caught the required amount of Pokemon, speak to Perrin in Mossui Town in Kitakami. The blue-haired photographer can be found near the Community Center, snapping pictures on the side of the road.

Once you’ve shown her your Pokedex that proves you’ve caught at least 150 Pokemon, she will challenge you to a battle. The fight is pretty easy, as she only sends out a Noctowl and Leafeon. After you’ve beaten her, she will then ask you to travel with her to the Timeless Woods to hunt for Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

A photography mini-game will begin immediately upon arriving at Timeless Woods. To complete it, you must sneak up on 10 Pokemon and then pull your camera out to take pictures of them. While Perrin asks you to take up close shots, I was able to get blurry pictures to pass her quality inspection. So, as long as you are somewhat close to the Pokemon, feel free to snap a photo.

You can find Spinarak crawling on trees, as well as birds such as Hoothoot flying in the sky. If you are struggling to find your tenth Pokemon, make sure to look in the forest’s caves, which have Salandit crawling in the dark. After you have taken 10 photos that Perrin approves, a battle with Bloodmoon Ursuluna will automatically trigger during a cutscene. Once you take down the giant beast, you will be given the chance to catch it. This a guaranteed catch, so make sure to use the Poke Ball you want to store it in!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and The Teal Mask DLC are available now on the Nintendo Switch.
