Niantic has revealed a new version of Mewtwo for Pokemon GO. Starting on July 10, 2019, Armored Mewtwo will begin appearing in five-star raids. People will have a chance to fight and capture the legendary until July 31, 2019.
The Armored Mewtwo Pokemon GO raid boss looks similar to Mewtwo’s appearance in Mewtwo Strikes Back, the very first Pokemon movie. (Pokemon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is also on the way.) In it, people get to see Mewtwo’s origins. At one point. Team Rocket’s Giovanni offers Mewtwo the means to control their powers. It then is given special armor, which it wears for a portion of the movie when working alongside Team Rocket.

In addition to the special version of Mewtwo, the announcement confirmed more clothing items for trainers. Details on what will be available weren’t announced, though they will apparently be Mewtwo-themed.
Pokemon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices.
