While Gameloft hold the rights for the Asphalt series, Konami are publishing Asphalt 3D: Nitro Racing in Japan. Or maybe worldwide…we aren’t sure yet.

Today, Konami updated their official site for the game with screenshots. Asphalt 3D is slated for Spring 2011, which means it could be their first 3DS title out the gate.

Other 3DS titles Konami are publishing include: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Contra, Frogger, a new Pro Evolution Soccer game, Project LovePlus, Pro Baseball Spirits 3D, and an original adventure game called Doctor Lautrec and the Knights of Oblivion.

But back to Asphalt 3D. The game includes licensed cars. The above screen is of a Maserati Gran Turismo S. Other cars shown off on the website were:

Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss2

McLaren MP4-12C
