Game Freak shared more looks at the Beast of Reincarnation gameplay ahead of its debut and provided an extended trailer that goes over different elements of combat. It shows what it looks like when Emma fights alongside her companion beast Koo to perform solo and team attacks. It also closes out by showing what the skill trees look like.

The Beast of Reincarnation combat trailer begins with the basics before getting into the real meat of gameplay. So it really starts getting into more detailed elements after bringing up how you want to fill the stun gauge to temporarily disable an enemy so you can better whittle away their HP. It’s also possible to parry attacks to keep damage from being taken and to fill the FP gauge so Koo can attack and use a Bloom Art. These fights can be Emma and Koo against a single foe or a team battle that involves multiple foes. It also starts showing more of what Koo can do to help Emma in a fight. For example, Higanbana Bloom or Seeds can be used to provide modifiers that can assist Emma in the fight and debuff or impair foes.

After about the halfway point at the 1:36 mark, it gets into the more involved fights we’ll see. Each area will feature a Colossal Boss. This is a larger foe than usual that’s more dangerous than usual. However, the video does show it is possible to deflect, parry, and cancel moves by countering or using Bloom Arts. That then leads into an almost two minute long look at the skill tree.

Here’s the full Beast of Reincarnation Combat Overview gameplay trailer that walks us through the different systems.

Beast of Reincarnation will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on August 4, 2026
