Blaster Master: Destination Fred was made for the multi-NES cartridge PlayChoice-10 arcade system. The unit usually contained other Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros. and Ninja Gaiden. Blaster Master: Destination Fred was tested in a few locations around Los Angeles, but was never released on home consoles.

This game is a direct sequel to the NES game. Fred, Jason’s pet frog is in it too. The Plutonium boss injected lethal microbots into Fred. Jason and Sophia shrink down to size and enter Fred to save him.

Sunsoft dug Blaster Master: Destination Fred out of their archives and has it prepared for Virtual Console. Look for it in North America on April 26.
