Square Enix will have a Nintendo 3DS game out close to the system’s launch as well: Bust-a-Move Universe, part of Taito’s long-running Bust-a-Move series (titled Puzzle Bobble in Japan) is due for release sometime this Spring.

Bust-a-Move Universe is what you’d expect it to be if you’ve played one of these games before — it’s Bust-a-Move with 3D effects. You shoot bubbles upward from the bottom of the 3D screen, at a pile of existing bubbles, and you’ll have to connect three or more bubbles of the same colour to make them pop. Almost like a faster-paced, upside-down Peggle.

Universe includes a 100-second, 300-second or Nonstop Bubbles Challenge Mode. It’ll be among the cheaper Nintendo 3DS games when it releases in Spring. Square Enix are releasing it at $29.99.
