Twisted Metal co-director, David Jaffe, made a special announcement today on the PlayStation Blog. The first-print run of Twisted Metal for the PlayStation 3, Jaffe says, will include a download voucher for Twisted Metal Black (originally on PlayStation 2).

The version of Black that you’ll be able to download is the original version, not Twisted Metal Black Online, which added online multiplayer to the game. Jaffe says that the free inclusion is both to give longtime fans a bonus to look forward to, as well as to let them compare Black and the new PlayStation 3 Twisted Metal.

Twisted Metal for PlayStation 3 will be released in North America on February 14th, Valentine’s Day.
