Can I catch Pecharunt in The Indigo Disk DLC?

Note: Full spoilers ahead for The Indigo Disk DLC.

Let’s get the unfortunate news out of the way right off the bat: no, you are not able to catch Pecharunt or even really see it at the launch of The Indigo Disk DLC. We only know of Pecharunt because of some in-game hints, data-mining and its single appearance where you can find it hanging out at the older lady’s store in Mossui Town in Kitakami.

That said, the backend of the second DLC contains files for Pecharunt, including its actual in-game model. If you want to see the leaked files for Pecharunt’s appearance, including its shiny form, be sure to take a look at Mattyoukhana_ on Twitter.

It appears to be a Mythical Pokemon for Gen 9, hence why it is unavailable at the launch of the DLC. It is likely Game Freak is saving this new Pokemon for later down the line. That said, we know quite a bit about the Pokemon including its data-mined stats and typing.

Here is what we know about Pecharunt at this time:

  • Typing: Poison and Ghost
  • HP: 88
  • Attack: 88
  • Defense: 160
  • Special Attack: 88
  • Special Defense: 88
  • Speed: 88
  • Base Stat Total (BST): 600

When will Pecharunt be available in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

As for when we will be able to catch Pecharunt in The Indigo Disk, it is likely going to be sometime in 2024. Game Freak has yet to acknowledge or announce this Pokemon. It is possible it is a new Mythical with a potential tie-in to the next anime film. If this is the case, we would not be surprised if Pecharunt isn’t formally announced until Pokemon Day in 2024.

Pokemon Day should happen around February 27, 2024. It wouldn’t be a major surprise if Pecharunt is shadow-dropped in the Gen 9 games on the same day. Or, at the very least, announced for a soon release sometime in Spring 2024. Regardless, The Indigo Disk is far from the end of the Gen 9 games, especially with this event Pokemon on the horizon.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and The Indigo Disk DLC are available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
