Chicory: A Colorful Tale, an indie game about a dog with a magical paintbrush, is heading to both the PS4 and PS5. The PlayStation Blog and game’s official Twitter account confirmed the ports, which will appear in 2021. Previously, the Steam page only confirmed a “202X” PC release.
In Chicory, a world is left colorless after the Chicory disappears and only her Brush is left behind. You follow a dog who must use the Brush and its special drawing and painting abilities to restore Picnic Province and help people. Depending on the kinds of paint you find and use, you might be able to find new areas or solutions to problems. For example, the PlayStation Blog mentioned luminescent paint that can be used to light up dark areas.
Here’s the new Chicory PS4 and PS5 trailer, which shows how you can use the paint and brush to deal with hazards and reach new places. It also shows how, in co-op, a second person controls an additional brush.
Previously, Chicory made frequent appearances during Steam Game Festivals. Its demo is often available during such limited time events for people to test out. Most recently, the trial appeared during the February 2021 Steam Game Festival.
Chicory: A Colorful Tale PS4 and PS5 versions will appear in 2021. It will also come to the PC.
