With a full title of Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly, the game will continue from Coffee Talk, which first released for PC and consoles in 2020. The game takes place in an urban fantasy version of Seattle, where supernatural races like humans, aliens, demons, elves, and more all coexist in a mostly-peaceful cosmopolitan city. Players will converse with customers, or watch customers interact, all the while preparing their orders and getting more of their individual stories.

The trailer for Coffee Talk Episode 2 shows off the familiar gameplay screen as seen in Coffee Talk, with the player-controlled Barista serving customers at the counter of a small urban coffee shop. The first customer is a “Mr. Hyde,” and other characters, like a police officer named Jorji, as well as familiar faces like the green-haired Freya Fatima are shown later. A white-haired woman named Riona asks for a Blue Pea latte, and players can also create it “with art” by drawing pattens during the milk pour. Players can also check an in-game social media feed to see the activities of some characters as they post.

Coffee Talk Episode 2 lands on the PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on April 20, 2023. The first game is currently available on the aforementioned platforms, with the exception of PS5 and Xbox Series X.
