Control A Rescue Helicopter And Shake Off Zombies In Choplifter HD

Konami are remaking Choplifter, a computer game originally released in the 1980s where you control a helicopter and rescue hostages from enemy camps. The original Choplifter was a side-scrolling game, and the new HD remake reflects this as well. This trailer does a good job of showing how the game plays out:

(Those people being shaken off the helicopter are zombies)

You can select from three different helicopters in the game. All three vary in speed, weaponry, armour, fuel and passenger capacity. You can also upgrade your helicopter using Stars unlocked by completing missions. The game has three campaigns, but Konami say they’ll update it with free DLC that adds more missions, mini-games, helicopters and so on.

Choplifter HD is being developed by inXile Entertainment for PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. It’s slated for release sometime this month. Konami will only be publishing the XBLA version; PC and PSN publishing duties will be taken on by inXile themselves.

Oh, look who seems to have a cameo in the game:
