Another hint at Shenmue III’s progress has appeared online, and this time it comes from voice actor Corey Marshall. Marshall is the voice of Ryo Hazuki, the game’s lead, and has been since the original Shenmue. On Twitter, Marshall confirmed that he has been in the studio recording for the game as of late.
Marshall’s first reveal that Shenmue III English voice acting recording came on December 7, 2018. His pinned tweet contained the photo above, which showed him posed with series creator Yu Suzuki. Since then, he has delivered regular updates. On December 10, 2018, he noted he would be heading into the studio for an eight-hour recording session. The December 11, 2018 tweet, which is embedded below, actually shows Marshall in the studio recording with members of the Shenmue III staff.
Our awesome Shenmue3 crewmembers, hard at work.
They are the best at their craft, and I have enormous respect and admiration for how they’re able to take Suzuki-san’s vision and seamlessly turn it into the English version.#Shenmue3 #RyoHazuki pic.twitter.com/ttjtjcMv7f
