Earlier today, Square Enix announced Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut for the Wii U with new features such as overhauled boss fights, improved AI, touch screen hacking, and more. Now, we have more details courtesy of Eidos Montreal, the developers of the original version of the game.
First off—and perhaps, most importantly—Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut will support off-TV play using the Wii U GamePad. The GamePad will also allow you to record your own “Infologs” containing screenshots, voice recordings, drawings and notes as you play the game. You’ll be able to share these Infologs with other Wii U owners using Nintendo’s Miiverse social network.
Additionally, the GamePad will allow you to use it for hacking as well as for sniping with any scoped weapon. Straight Right, the Australian developer working on the Director’s Cut, have also included multiple control schemes, including left-handed control mapping. Finally, the Director’s Cut also includes a strategy guide for the game, which you can access through the Wii U GamePad.
Eidos Montreal also touched upon gameplay improvements. Boss fights in the game have been completely redesigned with new map layouts to support stealth, hacking and combat. Boss health and AI have been tweaked, too, and you’ll now be able to defeat the game’s bosses without firing a single bullet. Regular enemies in the game have better AI now, too. Once you complete the game, you’ll be able to start over in a New Game+ mode with all your abilities intact.
Improvements have been made to the game’s visuals as well. Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut will have the improved lighting system, fog and smoother shadows that were included with The Missing Link DLC applied across the entire game. The game also has new anti-aliasing features.
Finally, Deus Ex: Human Revolution – The Director’s Cut will include eight hours of director’s commentary and 45-minute “Making Of” video. The game is coming “soon”.
