Devil Survivor 2: Break Record Has A New Scenario After The Ending

Devil Survivor 2: Break Record has been officially announced via Famitsu magazine. As previously reported, this is an updated version of Devil Survivor 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The most notable changes to the game are new story elements and a simple play mode.

Like Devil Survivor: Overclocked, the visuals in Devil Survivor: Break Record will be largely on the bottom screen (as in the screenshot above), which means no stereoscopic 3D effect. However, new anime cutscenes are being produced for the game, and these will play out on the 3DS’ top screen with a stereoscopic 3D effect.

In addition to the optional casual mode, Devil Survivor 2: Break Record will have new story elements. The game’s original story has seen enhancements, and Atlus have added a completely new scenario that takes place after the end of the original game. The new scenario will involve yet another demon invasion alongside the return of the Nicaea death site craze from the original story. Also present is a new female character (right).

On the bright side, it sounds like you might be able to hop into the game’s new scenario right from the start of the game. Famitsu says you’ll be allowed to pick between the original scenario and the new scenario, but whether you’ll need to complete the game first for this option to be available is not yet clear.

Devil Survivor 2: Break Record will be released this Summer. As with Devil Survivor: Overclocked, the game is now fully-voiced.
