Disgaea 7 is close to release in Japan, coming out in just under two weeks. An international release has yet to be confirmed, but if you’ve got a Japanese Nintendo or PlayStation Network account, you can now get a taste of the game yourself. Developer Nippon Ichi Software released a playable Disgaea 7 demo to the Japanese PSN Store and Japanese Nintendo Switch eShop on January 12, 2023.

You can get the game on PS4 or PS5 at this link (PS5) and this link (PS4). Meanwhile, those with a Japanese Nintendo account can grab the Disgaea 7 demo from here. For the eShop version, make sure to hit the “体験版ダウンロード” (“Trial Version Download”) button to get the demo. The “予約にすすむ” (Proceed to Reservation) button will instead pre-order the game.

The Disgaea 7 demo does not contain the full game, but includes the story up through Episode 2 of the main campaign. These episodes contain story elements like the first meeting of protagonists Fuji and Piririka. It will also contain gameplay enough for players to experience familiar Disgaea series mechanics, like weapon skills, and throwing enemies and allies. New mechanics like the Dodoekamax system will also be usable. The product descriptions did not specify if save data created from the demo can be carried over to the full game.

Disgaea 7 releases on PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on January 26, 2023 in Japan.
