The announcement also included a teaser for what the new Dragon Ball Super manga arc might entail upon its return. The official site showed art of Goten, Goku and Chi-Chi’s second son, and Trunks, Vegeta and Bulma’s son. Both are wearing super hero outfits, which is fitting as this will be the Super Hero arc.

As a reminder, the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie just appeared in English theaters in August 2022. That installment starred characters like Picolo and Gohan. Characters from it ended up heading to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 in November 2022.

The last Dragon Ball Super manga arc was the Granolah Saga. The 20-chapter story kicked off in chapter 67. It featured the Cerealian Granolah, seeking revenge after Frieza and the Saiyans attacked his home.

The Dragon Ball Super manga will return with chapter 88 on December 21, 2022.
