Dragon Quest V Marriage Rings

Dragon Quest V Rings Will Let You Propose With Style

Square Enix will release silver wedding rings based on Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. The Circle of Fire and Circle of Water will be available in Japan on April 10, 2021. Pre-orders for the rings are now open. Each ring is individually priced at 19,580 yen (approximately $189). [Thanks, Game Watch!]

Although the Circle of Fire is originally worn by the hero and the Circle of Water by the bride in the Dragon Quest V game, both rings can be worn by anyone regardless of gender in real life. The rings are available in odd-numbered sizes from #9 to #23. (In US sizes, that would be 5 to 11.)

To mark the start of pre-orders for these rings, Square Enix is also distributing specially-designed Japanese marriage registration forms. Two versions of the form are available. One has a Dragon Quest-styled message box and another lacks the box to look more legitimate. These forms can be freely downloaded, but only for a limited time until February 1, 2021.

The Dragon Quest franchise is so big in Japan, it even has the uniquely-themed Luida’s Bar people can visit. An attraction modeled after the game series will also appear at the Nijigen no Mori amusement park on Awaji Island. The latest title in the series, Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition, is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride was first released for Super Famicom (SNES) in September 1992 and PlayStation 2 in March 2004 in Japan. It is available worldwide on the Nintendo DS and both iOS and Android devices.
