Drakengard 3 will be released in Europe and other PAL territories on May 21st, 2014, Square Enix announced this morning. Alongside the announcement, they also shared a trailer featuring the game’s opening movie in English, which you can view above.

Drakengard 3 is a prequel to the original Drakengard, and puts you in the shoes of Zero, one of six goddess-like sisters known as “Intoners,” who have brought peace to the people using their power of song and magic. This peace is disrupted when Zero attempts to murder the other sisters, and the game’s story involves finding out why.

Drakengard 3 will be a digital-only release in Europe and PAL territories, but Square Enix will release the game at retail in North America. However, a North American release date for the game has not yet been announced.
