Now that Elden Ring is on the way, Bandai Namco confirmed that a free PS5 or Xbox Series X upgrade will be offered to people who get the PS4 or Xbox One version. After the Summer Game Fest 2021 reveal, the company shared a fact sheet with details about it. It also offered an array of new Elden Ring screenshots.

When it comes to the free upgrade, it will work similarly to ones offered for other games. Should someone get the PS4 or Xbox One version, they will be entitled to the corresponding next gen version. So someone who gets Elden Ring on the PS4 would get a PS5 version upgrade for free. In the case of Xbox platforms, it will work slightly different. That’s when SmartDelivery will kick in to automatically give Elden Ring Xbox One owners the Xbox Series X version when applicable.

As for the new screenshots, 17 images were shared. They show an array of characters, locations, and potential bosses people might face. Some elements from the June 2021 trailer also appear.

The Elden Ring release date is January 21, 2022. It will appear on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
