Khara has announced that it will showcase a new Evangelion short anime video at the franchise’s upcoming 30th anniversary festival. The event will take place in Yokohama, Japan, on February 21-23, 2026.
Hideaki Anno is spearheading the anime project, with Naoyuki Asano returning as a director after having previously directed Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. Kazuya Tsurumaki, Shinji Higuchi, and Kazuki Todoroki are also helping to supervise the video’s production processes.
The new short anime will have a length of approximately 13 minutes, and Khara will play it once per day on each of the three event days. There are no further details known yet as of this announcement, such as which characters, EVA units, or angels will appear in the video.
In order to watch this short anime, people must have purchased a ticket that gives access to the Stage Area. While the All Area Passes are already sold out, the Stage Area tickets are still available at ¥28,000 / $183.78 for A-class seats or ¥38,000 / $235.27 for S-class seats. The tickets are available for purchase on e+ for residents of Japan and on Trip.com for those who reside elsewhere.
