In Persona 5 Royal, a number of new events will be present that weren’t in the original game. The official Japanese Twitter account has confirmed that one of them will have the Phantom Thieves celebrating New Year’s with a group shrine visit. During this event, all of the heroines will be wearing kimonos. This includes the newest heroine, Kasumi.

In the video clip, all of the heroines have new portraits and character models. Each one is wearing a kimono and has her hair styled in a new way for the visit.

The first shrine visit of the new year, hatsumode, is a tradition in Japan. People may visit a shrine or temple. Persona 5 was the first recent installment in the series to not have an event involving it. Persona 3, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4 all had New Year’s events.
