However, despite delays, the podcast does feature some brief examples of new gameplay footage for fans who wish to see more of the game. This includes some views of a town and assorted wild areas such as forests and plains. Brief snippets of combat were also shown off, revealing an assortment of monster designs including a werewolf and a giant bird monster. There was also a clip of the protagonist kicking a chicken.

The new Fable was first teased in 2020, and has since been shown off in Microsoft’s 2023 and 2024 Xbox Showcases. The latter also revealed a 2025 release window, although this has now been delayed to 2026. The game is being developed by Playground Games, the studio behind the Forza Horizon series.

Fable has been delayed and will now release for Xbox Series X/S and PC sometime in 2026.
