The Masters of Chaldea are going to the final frontier–space. Saber Wars 2 is the title of the next Fate/Grand Order event and will bring with it Space Ishtar. Aniplex is promoting it with a special login campaign, as well as a limited summoning banner rerun. The news was shared via an update to the game’s official website. The event appeared in Japan in October 2019.
Saber Wars 2 takes place in the Servant Universe, an alternate dimension of the Fate franchise’s sprawling multiverse. It’s in large part a running in-joke, and most of its inhabitants are comedic remixes of existing Fate Servant characters. Several Servant Universe characters have made it into the Fate/Grand Order playable roster. Chief among them is the Assassin-class Mysterious Heroine X, who led the first Saber Wars event in 2018. She was later joined by the Berserker-class Mysterious Heroine X Alter and the Foreigner-class Mysterious Heroine XX.
As mentioned earlier, Fate/Grand Order Saber Wars 2 will add to that with Space Ishtar. She first appeared as a cameo in the 2021 Battle in New York challenge gauntlet. Space Ishtar, the Servant Universe version of the Babylonia alumnus, will join the roster as a 5-Star Avenger-class Servant. Space Ishtar is a unique Servant mainly because she has the ability to change the attack element of her own Noble Phantasm. In essence, a player with Space Ishtar in hand can choose whether her Noble Phantasm uses Quick, Arts, or Buster typing, allowing for strategies to be formed around card-matching chains in combat.
As for the pre-launch promotion, Fate/Grand Order players who log in for three days between October 12 and October 17, 2021, will net some goodies. The gifts include experience, AP refill items, and enough premium Saint Quartz currency for a roll. Aniplex will also launch a rerun of the Mysterious Heroine X summoning banner, to attract players who don’t have her yet.
Fate/Grand Order is immediately available on iOS and Android devices. Saber Wars 2 does not have an announced launch date, but is expected to go live shortly after the conclusion of the pre-launch promo campaign on October 17, 2021.
