Square Enix wants Final Fantasy art again and kicked off a FFX 25th Anniversary Fan Art Project worldwide to collect pieces based on that game. It is now live worldwide, with people able to contribute via the official website. The deadline is July 31, 2026, giving us all about a month and a half to turn in works.
The call is for digital and physical art, with scans, jpgs, and photos all accepted. It all must be based on this entry in the JRPG series and its characters, however. GenAI art will not be accepted. People must also be over 13 to take part. Selected pieces will be shared online by the company after the submission period.
This is now the second time in the last two years that Square Enix kicked off a Final Fantasy fan art project, as it also did so for the 25th anniversary of FFIX back in 2025. It put out the call for pieces in July 2025 worldwide. A few months later in August 2025, it started sharing submissions.
We’ll see FFX again in another way in 2026. At the start of June 2026, Square Enix confirmed a Switch 2 port of the remaster collection that included the original game and FFX-2. It will appear on July 23, 2026.
Final Fantasy X appeared on the PS2 before showing up in the HD Remaster collection on the Switch, Switch 2, PS3, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, and PC, and the submission period for the FFX 25th Anniversary Fan Art Project runs from June 19, 2026 to July 31, 2026.
