Final Fantasy XI Anniversary Site Adds Returning Player Guides

The FFXI anniversary website We Are Vana’diel now offers a series of returning player guides for anyone looking to come back to the game. Volume 1 overviews important transportation methods like mounts and warp rings, as well as important progression goals for those aiming to reach the maximum level of 99 in a class.

Also explained in Volume 1 are the Records of Eminence and Trust magic system. Records of Eminence are mini-objectives available after talking to specific NPC guides and allow players to earn extra rewards from tasks like slaying certain kinds of monsters or fighting in certain areas. Rewards include Sparks of Eminence, which can be exchanged for gear and materials. The Trust magic system is similar to the one available in FFXIV that allows you to fight alongside NPC’s, but is not limited to just dungeons. There are over 100 available NPC allies, known as alter egos, and players can eventually summon up to 5 at once.

The official Final Fantasy XI Youtube account also has several video guides for returning players, which you can find one of below:

We Are Vana’diel was originally launched back in 2021 to commemorate the games 20th anniversary. It is now home to concept art showcases and frequent developer interviews and discussions. Despite the game originally releasing all the way back in 2002, it has continued to receive updates as recently as May this year.

FFXI is immediately available on Windows PCs.
