Nintendo shared its promised Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Direct dedicated stream today offering new details about the upcoming Switch 2 game and focused on both gameplay and the main character summoned by Sothis. This offered a chance to see the four protagonists, what we can do in Dagsion while waiting for Heroic Games matches, and some of the different classes we can unlock by playing. Songs from the game will also be added to Nintendo Music on August 4, 2026.
The Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Direct began by looking at the 1449 Dagdan Empire Heroic Games. That portion focused on introducing Cai, Dietrich, Leda, and Theodora again. It explained why all four of them are taking part in the games in the hopes of getting a request granted by the Divine Sovereign Solel. After introducing them, we get to see what some of these Heroic Games matches will look like. As part of that, we got to see people like Cai and his allies in the ring and a look at different supporting cast members using familiar weapons, magic, and Combat Arts offensive and defensive abilities. The Blaze Arts that the major characters Cai, Dietrich, Leda, and Theodora also came up, showing how Dietrich could teleport or Theodora could pull up the earth to throw it at opponents. The Fortuna’s Blessing time-rewinding capability, returning from the previous game, also came up.
Some classes also came up in the video. These included ones unfamiliar to and new to the series, like the sword-wielding Shido, mounted Bardinger, Elephant Riders, and Charioteers, and magic-wielding Bishop. Beginner, Specialty, and Advanced classes will all appear. There are five Beginner ones to start. As your characters grow in strength, they can later take on Specialty or Advanced roles. The Certification Exams in Dagsion let you get classes, and the Direct highlighted those too.
While waiting for the Heroic Games’ matches, someone can explore Dagsion and the World Map. These Free Time segments allow people to prepare their characters. The Arena allows characters to train once per week to improve skills and learn moves. It’s also possible to Spectate on Match Days to get experience. The Shopping Arcade is a market with weapons, tools, and a Blacksmith. There is also a Temple Row with seven temples where people can volunteer to get Blessings to use in battle. Some of those Blessing benefits showed up in the video. Side quests can be picked up here too, as can people we can recruit. Some of the Support Conversations were teased too, as was a Pale Raven perch that lets you swap between the four characters’ stories at any time. Exploring the World Map also lets us gather materials, enter skirmishes, and head into dungeons to get materials, fight turn-based clashes against enemies, and find treasures.
Things end with a teaser for things to come in the story. It fast forwards to the year 1454. We then see statues of the four leads outside of Dagsion. That then leads into the game’s theme song being sung by a familiar face from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Sothis. This suggests that the four heroes vanished and the world is in danger. Sothis then summons a character who will work with the goddess Fortuna to save Dagda and fight alongside the four heroes.
