Free Detective Pikachu Streams Now Available Via HBO

A new HBO initiative designed to help keep people stuck at home due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has led to an array of shows and movies being offered for free. While the selection isn’t robust, there’s one thing that might especially be of interest. A person can go through HBO Go or HBO Now on April 3, 2020 to start a free Detective Pikachu stream. The official press release also says eventually other services, like say Hulu, will also offer it for free.

The free Detective Pikachu stream option is one of the many kid-friendly Warner Bros. movies available in the list of 20 being offered for this initiative. All someone needs to do to begin watching is go to the HBO Go page and click to begin.

While Detective Pikachu is the only gaming-related movie or show available to stream, a number of other documentary, movies, and TV series are currently free to stream on HBO as well. Here’s the full list:

The Detective Pikachu movie is available digitally and physically. Back when it was released, it had the best video game movie adaptation box office opening.
