We’re waiting for Retro Game Challenge while Japan is waiting for the sequel Game Center CX: Arino’s Challenge 2. Namco Bandai has Game Center CX 2 slated for release on February 26 and it comes with a bunch of new faux retro games to play.
Game Center CX 2 adds Game Boy style games such as Toriotosu, a clever play on words that sounds close to Tetris and means drop in Japanese. It’s probably no surprise then that Toriotosu is a block dropping game. Other newly created retro games include a 1980s style Kung Fu game and a Wiz-Man which looks like Pac-Man if it stared a magical ghost. While Game Center CX 2 appears to be import friendly it isn’t. One of the game computer games is an adventure game starring Arino, the host of the Game Center CX TV show. If you’re patient you may not have to import Game Center CX 2 anyway. XSEED is publishing Retro Game Challenge soon and as long as that game sell decently they will probably pick up the sequel.
