Update: Serebii has reported that the trademarks weren’t registered by Nintendo, Game Freak, or Creates Inc., but were rather listed under the name Yusuke Inui who, upon research appears to be an IP lawyer in Japan. However, keep in mind that it’s still possible for it to be a registration via proxy which does happen from time to time, but we should take it by the grain of salt for the time being on whether these trademarks pertain to Pokémon.
Original Report: Game Freak just filed two trademarks with “Solgaleo” and “Lunaala,” which could possibly be the flagship Pokémon for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. [Thanks, NeoGAF.]
While these recently registered trademarks might be for something completely different, the “Sol” in Solgaleo and “Luna” in Lunaala definitely look like they’re related to the titles of Sun and Moon. We’ll get more information on the games soon.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will release worldwide in Holiday 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
