Game Gear Micro Revealed, Set to Release in Four Color Variants in Japan on October 6, 2020

Following the earlier teaser, Sega officially announced the Game Gear Micro as a miniature console based on the Sega Game Gear.

The Game Gear Micro measures 80mm in width, 43mm in height, and 20mm depth to make it less than 8% the size of the original Game Gear. It comes in four color variants of Black, Blue, Yellow, and Red. Each of Game Gear Micro color has its own set of four games that consist of action, puzzle, RPG, and more titles. The mini handheld console will be available for 4,980 yen when it releases this October in Japan.

Black

The following games are included with the Black version:

  • Sonic The Hedgehog
  • Puyo Puyo Tsu
  • Out Run
  • Royal Stone

Blue

The following games are included with the Blue version:

  • Sonic & Tails
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • Sylvan Tale
  • Baku Baku Animal

Yellow

The following games are included with the Yellow version:

  • Shining Force
  • Shining Force II
  • Shining Force: Final Conflict
  • Nazo Puyo: Arle no Roux

Red

The following games are included with the Red version:

  • Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible
  • Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special
  • The G.G. Shinobi
  • Columns

Sega Big Window

Lastly, a set featuring all four Sega Game Gear Micro colors will be available for 29,980 yen. This includes a special Sega Big Window accessory, based on the same accessory that was available for the original Game Gear.

DX Pack Smoke Collector's Edition

A special “DX Pack Smoke Collector’s Edition” will also be available through ebten. This one is basically just a bonus replica that comes with the four-pack bundle.
