Following the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, Gust and Koei Tecmo shadowdropped a Switch 2 version and Upgrade Pack for Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Envisioned Land. However, following that launch, many reported many bugs. In addition to it not running well, the frame rate proved to be a problem. Now Gust issued a statement on social media that confirmed a Switch 2 Atelier Yumia patch is in development that will address the fps drops and performance.
As of time of writing, only some of the confirmed Switch 2 features noted on the Atelier Yumia eShop listing are actually applicable. The loading times are much shorter and about half the time of the original Switch version of the game on the system. The resolution is also better, as the character models’ details are clearer, textures look better, and the lighting seems to be improved. People also do get the Crackling Smoke, Flammi Backpack, Memory Backpack, and Twinkling Smoke accessories for Flammi and Yumia.
However, the fps for Atelier Yumia 2 on Switch 2 experiences massive drops even when just exploring the world and not taking part in battles or exploring crowded spaces. This happens both the in the quality and performance mode Gust acknowledged this and other performance issues in its statement and said it is working on a fix. It doesn’t have a timeline for when it will be resolved.
This means it is very likely we won’t see the update before the sale on the Upgrade Pack ends. As a reminder, there is no free update path for the Switch version of the game. The add-on with Switch 2 support costs $10 normally. However, until June 22, 2026, it is on sale for $5.70.
The fps and performance of Atelier Yumia isn’t a new problem. If you check forums after the original release, you’ll find people reported the same sorts of problems back then.
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Envisioned Land is available on the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
