This comes after quite a bit of teasing and hinting. Back in September 2020, we first heard about the possibility. CyberConnect 2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama called the thought of a .hack//G.U. Last Recode Switch port “appealing.” In August 2021, an ESRB rating for a Switch version of the collection appeared.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is a collection featuring the three PS2 games and a new epilogue. So people get .hack//G.U. Vol. 1//Rebirth, .hack//G.U. Vol. 2//Reminisce, and .hack//G.U. Vol. 3//Redemption. The new inclusion is .hack//G.U. Vol. 4//Reconnection, to help tie up loose ends and finish the story. That remaster first showed up back in 2017. At the time, it was only playable on the PlayStation 4 and PC.

The .hack//G.U. Last Recode Switch release date is March 10, 2022. It will appear worldwide that day. It is also immediately available on the PlayStation 4 and PC.
