Natsume have announced a release date for the Nintendo DS version of Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns. The game will be released on September 20th in North America. That’s a week prior to Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny.
The Tale of Two Towns lets you select which of its two towns you want to live in — Konohana or Bluebell. The two villages were once the friendliest of neighbours until a dispute erupted over…food. More specifically, an argument over whose cooking was better. As a result, the two villages are now bitter rivals.
You play as a new farmer (a girl or boy) and choose which village to start out in. Konohana is Eastern-styled with an abundant field of crops, while Bluebell is more European in setting and and focuses more on raising animals. It’ll be your job to eventually bring peace between the two villages again.
"Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns is one of the most unique Harvest Moon titles we’ve ever released!" says Maekawa-san, president of Natsume. "For the first time, players will get to choose what town they want to live in! There are also other great new features, such as the ability to raise adorable Alpacas!"
Speaking of Alpacas, pre-ordering The Tale of Two Towns nets you an Alpaca plushie. The game will also be released on the Nintendo 3DS, but a release date for this version hasn’t been announced yet.
