Hatsune Miku has booked herself a big gig! The Vocaloid will perform at Coachella 2020, which isn’t too far away. She will be on stage on April 10 and 17, 2020, the same day acts like Rage Against the Machine, Run the Jewels, Charli XCX, Big Sean, and Calvin Harris. (Perhaps they’ll all just be friends?)
Should people want to see the Coachella debut of the summer idol, they’ll have to settle for the April 17th performance. Tickets for the first weekend have already sold out. The presale for the second weekend will begin at 12pm PT/3pm ET on January 6, 2020. A 2020 weekend pass is $429 before fees for April 17-19th. Tickets tend to sell out quickly, so it could be sayonara, goodbye if you don’t show up at the site on the day the presale begins.
Miku has performed multiple times outside of Japan, so this show isn’t her being a disruptive diva. Back in October 2014, she made a major television debut with a performance of “Sharing the World” on The Late Show with David Letterman. There are also worldwide concerts as a result of events like Miku Expo 2020. For example, she’ll be in London at O2 Academy Brixton on January 11, 2020 and at the Verti Music Hall in Berlin on January 20, 2020.
As for games, Miku will work her sweet magic in the Nintendo Switch title Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix. It will arrive in Japan on February 13, 2020, with a western release coming later this year. Two of the new songs in that entry will be “Jitter Bug” and “Teo.”
