Hellgate Opens Up To An Open Beta This Week

Hellgate went through a short three-day closed beta earlier this month, but HanbitSoft will be running an open beta starting June 30th. The open beta will include two new  modes — a player vs. player Duel Area and a zombie-infested Cow Room.

Abandoned Passage, Black Wall Way, Forgotten Grave, and Passage of Hallucination will be the four available areas in the Dual Area mode. This is effectively a PvP team deathmatch mode. Winning matches will award PvP points, which can be used to buy items, accessories and pets.

Cow Room, as much as it sounds like the Cow Level from Diablo II, doesn’t actually involve cows. It is, however, similar in concept. You complete a special recipe to create a key, then take on a horde of zombies in the Cow Room, which contains the newest and rarest Hellgate item drops.
