More than a year ago, HanbitSoft announced they were resurrecting online PC RPG, Hellgate: London, following the closure of original developer, Flagship Studios, founded by ex-Blizzard staff.

Namco Bandai held the property rights to Hellgate: London, which HanbitSoft acquired. They renamed the title Hellgate: Resurrection, overhauled the game with new content, and began operating it in Korea under a free-to-play model, then announcing plans to release it in other territories.

HanbitSoft made their U.S. announcement today. The game, now simply called Hellgate, will launch as a free-to-play MMO in closed beta from June 3rd – June 5th. The full game will be launched sometime later this year.
